The 1851 to 1901 census should contain the following:

For each family member on the return (Also neighbours on same return)

Christian and Surname
Age
Sex
Relationship to the Head of the family (Wife, Son, Daughter, Servant, Maid, etc;)
Married, Unmarried, Widowed,
Occupation or Profession
Where born (Usually the County and District)
Name of Road, Street, etc; and number of house (sometimes the house number was not entered)
The number of rooms occupied, if more than one  (sometimes not entered)
Parish, Ecclesiastical District, City or Borough, Ward, Town, Village.
Whether an Employer, Employed, Neither, or Independent Means (1891-1901)
Whether Blind, Deaf, Dumb, (1851-61) also Imbecile, Lunatic, Idiot (1871-1901)


The 1841 census should contain the following:

For each family member on the return (Also neighbours on same return)

Christian and Surname
Age - Adults ages should have been rounded to the nearest 5 yrs - this was not strictly followed
Sex
Occupation or Profession
Place (Street, Road etc;) not always entered

If born in the same county as the census was taken (Y(es) - N(o)
Whether born in Scotland, Ireland or Foreign Parts (S(cotland), I (reland), FP (Foreigh Parts)
